Get involved. Become a phoebes convener.

Interested in organizing an event for the Phoebes? Let’s make it happen!

We consider the Phoebes to be a community effort and we encourage everyone from experienced biologists to up-and-coming birders to get involved. Our monthly meetups, all organized by volunteer conveners, are designed to foster a supportive community for women who love nature and being outdoors - using birds as a medium to do so.

As a volunteer Phoebes Convener, you don’t have to be a birding savant. Of more value is a Phoebes’ familiarity with her field trip venue and her level of comfort with public speaking and organizing a crowd. While most Phoebes outings are bird walks, we do include a couple of alternate bird-related activities during the hot and buggy summer months (June-August) and during the holidays (December) such as craft, movie, and trivia nights. So, whether you want to organize a bird walk at your favorite park or host the Phoebes for a Holiday Bird Bash, now’s your chance to spread your wings and become a Phoebes Convener.
